We specialize in computerized edge to edge quilting, which is a repeated pattern (or pantograph) all over your quilt top.
Our favourite part is helping you chose the perfect colour thread, batting and quilting to complement your top. We are here to work with you every step of the way. Please find below some tips to get the best results for your quilt. Any questions you have, we are happy to help!
How to prepare your quilt for us:
- Please give your top and your backing a good press.
- Take some time to trim any loose threads. Even trim any loose threads on the back of your quilt top, they like to sneak through to the top when they think no one is looking.
- If you need to piece your backing, we recommend a good ½” seam pressed open.
- Your backing needs to be at least 4” bigger than your top on all sides. This is needed to properly load the backing onto the frame, and to accommodate the side clamps. For example, if your quilt is 50”x60” then your backing would need to be a minimum of 58”x68”. This is just the minimum, if you are needing to piece your backing, do not worry about trimming it perfectly to this size. We love using the nice straight bias to load your backing to the frame.

Pricing
Edge to edge quilting is charged at a rate of $0.03 per square inch. This includes all thread, quilt loading time and bobbins. All quilts are quilted with Glide polyester thread.
To calculate your cost, for example a 50” x 60” quilt top would be calculated as follows:
50 x 60 x 0.03 =$90
We carry a wide selection of Hobbs Heirloom batting. We love the quality, and loft that Hobbs offers.
Our favourite and most popular batting is Hobbs 80/20. It is 80% cotton, 20% polyester. It provides great loft, but won’t be as “crinkly” as 100% cotton.
96” wide: $15/metre 120” wide: $18/metre
100% Cotton, breathes so nicely, and gives you that more vintage look once washed.
96” wide: $20/metre
We also carry wool batting, which will keep you super cozy in the winter, and cool in the summer. This batting requires more care when washing.
96” wide: $35/metre
